BULLDOGS SHUTOUT COLONIALS ON LATE FIRST HALF GOAL, WIN 1-0 AT ROBERT MORRIS

Moon Township, Pa. - In the midst of a five game road trip, Bryant senior Brianne Lustenring (Massapequa, N.Y.) scored the game-winner late in the first half at Robert Morris as the Bulldogs were able to hold off the Colonials for their first shutout victory of the season on Sunday.

The Bulldogs (4-11-1, 2-5-1 NEC) played great defensively and did just enough on the offensive end to earn the shutout victory Sunday at Robert Morris (8-7-1, 4-3-1 NEC). In a game that was moved to an 11 a.m. start, senior keeper Katie Mitchell (Deer Park, N.Y.) recorded 9 saves in her first shutout of the season.

In the 44th minute, Bulldog sophomore Amanda Worrall (Hamilton Square, N.J.) sent a corner kick into the foot of Lustenring who was able to one-time the ball into the near post side of the net for the game's lone goal. The goal was the first of the year for Lustenring and also the first assist of the year for Worrall.

The Colonials outshot the Bulldogs 16-14 in the contest but could not find the back of the net. Mitchell was able to stop two key opportunities created by Colonial forward Ayana Davis to ensure the shutout victory for her squad.

Bryant continues its stretch of five road games when they travel to Long Island University to take on the Blackbirds on Friday, October 30 at 6 p.m.
