WOMEN'S SOCCER BLANKED BY BLUE DEVILS, 1-0, ON THE ROAD

A late first half goal by Cilo Tregar proved to be enough for Central Connecticut as the Bryant University women's soccer team fell to the Blue Devils, 1-0, on the road Sunday afternoon.

The Bulldogs impressed on defense but drop to 5-11-2 overall and 3-4-1 in the NEC with the loss while the Blue Devils move to 8-8-1 on the season and 4-3-1 in conference play.

Central Connecticut scored the lone tally of the contest in the 42nd minute. Beth Lloyd sent a corner kick into the box where Tregear was able to gain position and send a header past Bryant keeper Lauren Viverito (Dayton Park, N.J.) for the game-winner.

The Bulldogs came back to take five shots in the second stanza, improving on its first half margin by four shots, but was unable to get a ball past home keeper Nikola Deiter who made three saves on the day.

Freshman Ari Goldberg (East Bridgewater, Mass.) paced the Bulldogs with two shots in the match while Viverito turned away two in between the pipes. The Blue Devils outshot the visitors by a margin of 8-6 and took seven corner kicks to Bryant's four.

The Black and Gold return to the pitch on Friday, Oct. 29 when they visit Mount St. Mary's at 3:30 p.m.
