Bulldogs receive NSCAA Academic Award

FULL NSCAA RELEASE

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Fresh off its most competitive and successful season at the Division I ranks, the Bryant University women's soccer team earned another accomplishment recently, receiving the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Team Academic Award for the 2010-11 season.

Joining a group of 791 other men and women's teams, the Bulldogs were notified of the achievement in December after posting a team grade point average of 3.15 under 12-year head coach Chris Flint.  All teams must post at least a team-wide grade point average of 3.0 or greater to receive the award.

Predicted to finish in seventh place in the Northeast Conference, the Bulldogs set a new single-season high in victories (8) and winning percentage (.500) since joining the Northeast Conference in 2008.  Bryant will be eligible for postseason competition at the Division I level for the first time ever next season.
