SENIOR KELSI JACOB NAMED NEC CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Senior Kelsi Jacob (Mahwah, N.J.) of the Bryant University women's soccer team was named Northeast Conference Co-Defensive Player of the Week for her shutout performance against Mount St. Mary's on Friday.
Jacob recorded an overtime shutout in the Bulldogs 1-0 victory over Mount St. Mary's Friday, improving her individual overall record to 3-0. Jacob held the Mountaineers scoreless for over 97 minutes, making four saves in Bryant's final match of the season. This is the first NEC weekly honor of Jacob's career.
Despite a record-breaking season for the women's soccer program, the Bulldogs fell one point short of the fourth and final spot in the NEC Tournament. Bryant finished the year 11-8 overall, going 6-4 in conference play, both program benchmarks since joining the Division I ranks.
