Bryant visits two NEC opponents over weekend

Smithfield, R.I. – Coming off a huge 1-0 victory over Sacred Heart on Sunday, the Bryant University women's soccer team will head to the Keystone State for a pair of matches against Northeast Conference foes, Robert Morris on Friday (12:30 p.m.) and Saint Francis U. on Sunday (12 p.m.).

The Rachael Ivanicki (Colts Neck, N.J.)Shana Follette (Plymouth, Mass.) combination on Sunday afternoon helped snap Bryant's three-game skid just in time to start NEC action off with a much needed victory. With the win, the Bulldogs are now 1-0 in league play for the second-straight year.

On Friday, the Black and Gold will continue conference action at Robert Morris (12:30 p.m.), the first of three road matches for Bryant. The Colonials enter weekend action with a 4-6-1 overall record coming off a 2-1 overtime loss at Central Connecticut State on Friday. Madison Kozlowski leads her team with nine points on four goals and one helper, while Kristie Hamilton and Antonia Grese have posted five and four points respectively. Becky Schoenecker and Chelsea De Jager have split time in net for the Colonials, posting a combined 1.41 goals against average in 11 matches. Last year on senior day, the Bulldogs scored in the 86th minute to top Robert Morris for their 10th win of the season.

Two days later, the Bulldogs will head to Loretto, Pa., for a showdown with the Red Flash, Sunday at 12 p.m. Led by three-time NEC Player of the Year Tesa McKibben, Saint Francis U. enters weekend action with a 6-6-1 overall record, 2-0 in the league. McKibben leads her team with 20 points on seven goals and six assists on a league-leading 85 shots. Jessica Andrew has earned 10 starts in net to lead the Red Flash, posting a .761 save percentage and a 1.63 goals against average.  Last September in Smithfield, a four-point day from McKibben propelled Saint Francis U. to an easy 3-0 victory over the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs will look to get off to a 3-0 start in NEC action for the first time since the 2010 season this weekend in Pennsylvania.
