Biggs announces 2018 schedule; Bulldogs to open season August 20 at home

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women's soccer program and head coach Andy Biggs announced their 16-game schedule for the upcoming 2018 season on Tuesday afternoon.

The slate features nine contests at the Bulldog Soccer Field, starting with an August 20 battle against Quinnipiac.

"After another great effort this past spring, we can't wait for the 2018 season to begin," Biggs said. "The team is excited to come together again in August, and we know these games will help us to raise our level of play from day to day and week to week as we steel ourselves to take our next step in the NEC."

After the season opener with the Bobcats, Bryant hosts three more games at home against in-state rival Rhode Island (August 23), Fairfield (August 30) and Maine (September 2).

The Bulldogs hit the road for six consecutive games, including their first two Northeast Conference contests at the end of the month. Bryant heads to Holy Cross (September 6) to start the road swing, then battles three straight America East foes in UMass Lowell (September 9), Binghamton (September 13) and Vermont (September 16).

Coach Biggs and company open conference play in Fairfield against Sacred Heart (September 21) and on Staten Island against Wagner (September 28).

Bryant rounds out the month against Saint Francis (September 30) at home and begins October with a rematch of their 2017 Northeast Conference semifinal against Fairleigh Dickinson (October 7) in Smithfield.

A quick road game in New Britain is sandwiched between two pairs of home games against Central Connecticut (October 12). The final home weekend brings Robert Morris (October 19) and LIU Brooklyn (October 21) to town before the regular season wraps up in Emmitsburg, Md. against Mount St. Mary's (October 26).

The Black and Gold are coming off one of their best seasons in Division I history, finishing the 2017 campaign with an 11-5-2 record and 5-3 conference resume that earned them their second postseason berth in the last three seasons under coach Biggs.
