Rey earns second NEC Rookie of the Week honor

SOMERSET, N.J. – Bryant University women's soccer freshman Corinne Rey (Norton, Mass.) was selected as the Northeast Conference Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

In the second start of her collegiate career on Friday, Rey scored a goal from 30 yards out to equalize the Bulldogs' match with Sacred Heart in the 66th minute. It is her second goal of the season and she is the fourth Bryant player to reach the mark this season, joining classmate Lexi Kraemer (Forest Hill, Md.), sophomore Amanda Spitaleri (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) and senior Cayla D'Amico (Grafton, Mass.).

Rey earned her second Rookie of the Week honors this week, with the other coming on September 11 after her first career goal at Holy Cross. Dating back to last season, Bulldog players have won four of the last seven rookie weekly accolades from the conference.

The 2018 season continues for the Bulldogs this weekend when they head to Staten Island to take on Wagner Friday night and return home for a match with Saint Francis U on Sunday afternoon.
