Five Bulldogs earn All-NEC honors

Somerset, N.J. - Five members of the Bryant Univeristy women's soccer team were selected to the All-NEC teams by the Northeast Conference on Friday. Jamie Irwin made All-NEC first team, Kellie Errasti, Arin Smalls, and Amanda Spitaleri were named to the second team, and Makayla Griffin earned All-Rookie honors.

Irwin is the first player in program history to make the All-NEC first team four years in a row. She has proven herself to be the most consistent defender for the Bulldogs. This season she helped the defense produce three shutouts.

Errasti, Smalls, and Spitaleri all made the All-NEC second team this year. For Spitaleri, this will be the third time that she has made an All-NEC team, and the second time it was on the second team. Spitaleri scored the game-winning goal against St. Francis Brooklyn and dished out an assist in the 1-0 win versus Sacred Heart. This is the first time in both Smalls and Errasti's career that the pair has been named to the All-NEC second team. Smalls and Errasti produced 14 shots together and started every game for the Black and Gold in 2021.

Freshman Makayla Griffin earned the honor of the NEC All-Rookie team. In her inaugural season, she played in all seven games as a sub and contributed to the Bryant defense, which allowed 11 goals during the year.

This is the second season in a row that the Bulldogs have had at least five players make the All-NEC teams.
