Three Bulldogs score in win over Delaware St.

SMITHFIELD, R.I - Emma Pedolzky, Katie Cronin, and Lexi Kraemer of the Bryant University women's soccer team found the back of the net in the 3-0 win over Delaware State at the Bulldog Soccer Field.

"I thought we were more creative with our passing and movement behind their backline today. And we did well to finish some of the very good chances we created.  At the same time, we balanced our attack with solid, steady defending and earned the shutout".

 Key Moment

  • The Bulldogs scored their third goal of the first half with one minute left to take a commanding 3-0 lead.

Scoring Summary

  • 6th minute - Bryant 1, Delaware St. 0 - Catherine Bean was fouled in the box, which resulted in a penalty shot. Pedolzky took the penalty shot and fired the ball off of the goalie's hands that went into the top of the net.
  • 27th minute - Bryant 2, Delaware St. 0 - The Bulldogs had a throw-in on the right side of the field. Pedolzky corraled the pass and started running to the right, she then passed it through the box, and Cronin riffled it off the post, and it ricocheted into the net. 
  • 44th minute - Bryant 3, Delaware St. 0 - Kraemer took the ball down the left side of the field. She then went towards the middle of the field, settled the ball, and rifled a shot in the top right of the net from 25 yards out.

Notes and Notables

  • Cronin and Pedolzky both scored their second goal of the season.
  • Kraemer netted her first goal this year.
  • Pedolzky now has two assists as a Bulldog.
  • Kathryn McNeil had one save in her first start.
  • Jessica Rinaldi tallied three saves.
  • Bryant outshot the Hornets 10-7
