Cronin scores game-winning goal in 2OT win against Merrimack

SMITHFIELD, R.I - Katie Cronin of the Bryant University women's soccer team scored the game-winning goal in double overtime on the assist from Jordyn Collins in the 1-0 victory against Merrimack.

"Our team played well again today, and the experience will definitely benefit us as we continue to learn and grow as a team. We created many good chances before the winner and kept fighting until the end. The winning goal was excellent - a great dribble before a very good cross paired with a well-timed run and sharp first-time finish".

• Kathryn McNeil made a key save with one minute left in the first overtime period to send the game to double overtime.

Scoring Summary

• 106th minute - Bryant 1, Merrimack 0 - Collins took the ball down the right side of the field to the corner. She then crossed the ball right in front of the goalie, which set up Cronin, who tapped in the game-winning goal with her left foot.

Notes and Notables

• Cronin is now tied for second in the Northeast Conference in goals with six.
• Collins dished out her first career assist.
• McNeil recorded her second shutout in a row. McNeil also had six saves.
• Bryant outshot Merrimack 24-17.
