Griffin scores in 59th minute as Bryant blanks URI, 1-0, in opener

KINGSTON, R.I. - Makayla Griffin 's goal in the 59th minute lifted the Bryant University women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Rhode Island on Thursday night in Kingston.

Griffin's goal gave Bryant it's third-straight win over URI and its second consecutive season-opening victory.

"I'm proud of our team for the effort they showed in a hard-fought win on the road. We played some very good soccer in moments and battled all the way to the end to keep the shutout."
