AMHERST, MASS. - The Bryant University women's soccer team fell to the UMass Minutewomen 2-0 on Sunday afternoon.

Coach's comments on the defeat...

"We were not at our best level today, but continued to fight and in the second half created two 1v1s with their goalkeeper. Converting either would've tied the game 1-1. In the end, we can learn from our performance as we get set for Stonehill on Thursday."

  • 18th minute - Bryant 0, UMass 1 -  Juliana Ryan finished off a cross from Ashley Lamond with a header that slipped past Bulldog keeper Kathryn McNeil and into the bottom right corner.
  • 82nd minute - Bryant 0, UMass 2 - Emma Pedolzky cut a ball back across the 18-yard box to Bella Recinos who one touched the ball into the top right corner.

Notes and Notables

  • The Black and Gold's best chances to score came midway into the second half. Sophomore Emily Supple had a breakaway in the 62nd minute but shot it straight at the opposing keeper. Jordyn Collins had only the keeper to beat after the Bulldogs picked the pocket of the UMass defense but put the ball just over the crossbar.
  • Goaltenders McNeil and Selena Negron split time in the match. Both keepers made three saves and allowed one goal.
  • 21 of the 27 players for Bryant made an appearance in today's contest. Every field player has now seen the field at some point this season for the Bulldogs.
