Biggs announces Class of 2028

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Head coach Andy Biggs is excited to announce the five players that will be joining the Bryant women's soccer program as the Class of 2028.

Coach's comments on the Class of 2028…

"We are happy to welcome the class of 2028 to Bryant University. They are great students and talented athletes and we are confident their skills and character will be an excellent fit for our team and program. I know they can't wait to join up with their new teammates and we will be excited to see them here in Smithfield next August.

Caitilin Forshay | Forward | Glen Rock, NJ | Immaculate Heart Academy | Match Fit Academy

Before Bryant: A four year varsity team member at Immaculate Heart Academy… Finished her career at IHA with 39 goals and 28 assists, three sectional titles, and two state final appearances… Named the Bergen County Tournament MVP in 2023, First Team All-County, and Second Team All-County in 2021… Also named to First Team All-League in both 2021 and 2022.

 Personal: Daughter of Danielle and Michael Forshay… Mother Danielle ran track at Monmouth… Has one brother.

Lola Griffin | Defense | Dorchester, MA | Notre Dame Academy | South Shore Select

Before Bryant: Collected 10 goals and 20 assists over her high school career… Eastern Massachusetts and Catholic Conference All-Star Team member… NPL National Finalist with South Shore Select.

Personal: Daughter of Sarah Grealish and Daniel Griffin…Has four siblings.

Julia Salina | Midfield | Berlin, CT | Berlin High School | FSA FC

Before Bryant: First player in Berlin High School history to be named All-State in Class L…Led the team in scoring sophomore and junior year…Named to Class L All-State Team in 2022 and 2021…Named to CCC All-Conference Team in 2022, 2021, and 2020.

Personal: Daughter of Danielle and Adam Salina…Father Adam played football at Stanford…Has two sisters.

Ava Thompson | Defense, Buffalo, NY | Williamsville East High School | Buffalo Rush

Before Bryant: Most goals as a defensive player at Williamsville East HS…Named to ECIC First Team…Earned Defensive Player of the Year…Member of the youth national team in Sweden (FCNE)...Six year captain of the Buffalo Rush.

Personal: Daughter of Gary Thompson…Has four siblings.

Whitney Valliant | Defense | Concord, NH | Concord High School | FC Stars of Massachusetts

Before Bryant: 2023 First Team All-State…2022 Second Team All-State…2020 All-State Honorable Mention…Four-year varsity team member.

Personal: Daughter of Nicole and Shawnn Valliant…Father Shawnn played baseball at St.Joseph's College of Maine…Has one sister.
