Ostrander six-time Swimmer of the Week

OSTRANDER EARNS SIXTH NEC SWIMMER OF THE WEEK

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – On the strength of two season-best swims and a pair of first-place finishes at the Dartmouth Invitational, junior Casey Ostrander (Yarmouthport, Mass.) earned her sixth Northeast Conference Swimmer of the Week honor, announced by the conference on Tuesday.

Competing against the University of Massachusetts and Dartmouth College, Ostrander won the 50 free and 100 back events, while finishing second in the 200 back. Her time of 24.08 in the 50 free and 57.96 in the 100 back were both season-best swims for the junior and place her atop the conference ledger in those two events.

Ostrander now holds the conference standard in the 50 free, 100 free and 100 back, and she has the second-best time in the 200 back.

The Bulldogs conclude their regular season this Saturday, Feb. 4, when they host Holy Cross at the Chace Athletic Center. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. and the Bulldogs will honor their eight seniors prior to the meet.
