Bulldogs fall to CCSU on Friday night
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Junior Dana Yu (Bridgewater, Mass.) and freshman Valeria Watson (Mexico City, Mexico) each picked up victories but Central Connecticut went on to a 172-90 victory over the Bryant University women's swimming and diving team on Friday night at the Chace Athletic Center.
The loss snaps the Bulldogs (2-3) two-game winning streak and is their second against a member of the Northeast Conference this season.
Yu and Watson were able to pick up the only first-place finishes for the Black and Gold on the night. Yu won the 50 free with a time of 25.00 and Watson won the 200 back with a time of 2:06.88.
Top Performers
Yu also finished second in the 100 fly with a time of 59.79.
Watson also finished third in the 1000 free with a time of 10:52.33.
Nicole Salzano (Elmwood Park, N.J.) finished second in both the 100 (59.31) and 200 (2:07.32) back.
Julia Messina (Canandaigua, N.Y.) finished second in both the 100 (1:07.59) and 200 (2:27.96) breast.
