Black and Gold fall to Fordham

NEW YORK – The Bryant University women's swimming and diving team took their first loss of the season on Saturday afternoon against Fordham by a score of 193-105.

Makayla Pearce swept the distance freestyle events, picking up two wins for the Bulldogs.

Notes and Notables

  • Makayla Pearce grabbed Bryant's first win of the day with a 1000 yard freestyle time of 10:42.57. Natalia Kuipers was right behind Pearce in the event and was able to take second place with a time of 10:46.30.
  • Pearce also won the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:15.28. Charlee LeGallais backed her up with a second place time of 5:18.91.
  • Julia Stenhard and Ava Mustacciuolo combined for the team's third 1-2 finish of the day. Stenhard swam a 2:09.72 while Mustacciuolo laid down a 2:12.96 in the 200 yard butterfly. Stenhard's win was her third straight victory in the event.
  • The Bulldogs also picked up the top three spots in the 200 yard freestyle relay. The A Team raced a 1:41.16, the B team put down a 1:44.38, and the C team swam a 1:47.48

Next Up

The Black and Gold swimming squad will have a few weeks off until they travel to WPI to open the month of December (1-3rd). Diving however will make their way to the Terrier Invitational at Boston University next week (Nov. 17-19th).
