Dawgs pick up five medals on Day 1 of AE Championships

LEXINGTON, VA - The Bryant University swimming & diving team ended Day 1 of the America East Championships with five podium finishes, three on the men's side and two on the women's.

The Bulldogs are currently in first place on the men's side and second on the women's after Day 1.

Notes and Notables

  • Christopher Buonocore and Megan Beasley continue to dominate for the Black and Gold on the boards. Both divers took gold in their events. Buonocore dove a 295.20 in the 3 meter event while Beasley dove to a 265.45 in the 1 meter. Beasley and Buonocore pick up All-Conference honors in their respective events with their wins.
  • The men's 200 yard medley relay team put up their best time of the season as they took second in the race. The lineup of Griffin Lajoie, Gustav Persson, James Misto, and Conner Lofstrom set a new school record with their time of 1:26.89.
  • The women's 200 yard medley relay team also grabbed a podium spot with their season best time of 1:42.01. The team of Regan Lord, Elayna Pistrin, Julia Stenhard, and Marcella Figueroa took third in the event.
  • The men's 800 yard freestyle relay team of Nick Andrews, Leo Luna, Alex Rowson, and Chase Konstantakos picked up the bronze medal in the event with their time of 6:43.64.

Bryant takes on Day 2 of the America East Championships on Thursday. Thursday's events include the 500 free, the 200 IM, the 50 free, the 200 free relay, and women's 3 meter diving.
