BRYANT TENNIS TAKES PART IN CAMPUS KIDS DAY

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – It was a picture-perfect afternoon at the Bryant Tennis Courts on April 15.  Not only were the Bryant University men’s and women’s tennis team’s on their way to 7-0 victories over the University of Hartford, but they had a few extra fans on hand to cheer on the Bulldogs.

Taking part in the United States Tennis Association (USTA)’ Campus Kids Day, the men’s and women’s tennis teams and coaches Barbara Cilli and Ron Gendron played host to several area youths from Rhode Island and Massachusetts for a day of collegiate tennis, skill instruction, and delicious BBQ at the courts.

The USTA Campus Kids Days are designed to expose junior players, parents and coaches to the fun and excitement of collegiate tennis.

Following the Bulldogs’ victory, coaches Gendron and Cilli worked with more than 30 kids on basic tennis skill instruction and technique and concluded the fun-filled afternoon with various competitions and games.
