WOMEN'S TENNIS RUNS INTO TOUGH STONY BROOK SQUAD, FALLING 6-0 SATURDAY

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University women's tennis team ran into a very talented Stony Brook team over the weekend as the Bulldogs fell to Seawolves, 6-0, Saturday night at Rally Point.

Sophomore Devlin-Ann Ammendola (Massapequa, N.Y.) had the best shot to steal a win, taking her opponent, Chloe Pike to three sets, but coming up just short in the third, 1-6, 7-5, 7-5. The extremely tough Seawolves were just too much for the Black and Gold to handle as they went on to sweep the Bulldogs, 6-0, in the singles play.

"Despite the loss it was great tennis for us to play," said Bryant head coach Barbara Cilli. "It was a good start to prepare our team for the busy week ahead."

The Bulldogs will continue Spring Break action on Wednesday at Villanova.
