Women's tennis earns Bryant Academic Excellence Award

WOMEN'S TENNIS EARNS ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AWARD AT 2013 BRAYNT AWARDS BANQUET

The Academic Excellence Award is a team accolade presented to the Bulldog squad with the highest team Grade Point Average for the most recent completed calendar year.

This honor averages each team's GPA from the most recent completed spring and fall terms to determine the top academic dog.

This year, the Bryant University women's tennis team earned its second-consecutive Academic Excellence Award with an impressive team GPA of 3.34. This inspiring group of student-athletes has proven semester after semester that they are just as fierce in the classroom as they are on the court, and success has followed them in both arenas.

In the spring of 2012, five tennis-playing Bulldogs were honored for their actions on the court with All-Conference selections, and this spring, the women's tennis team finished an impressive 4-1 against NEC competition en route to its first-ever appearance in the Northeast Conference championships just last month.

62 percent of the women's tennis roster was named to the Northeast Conference Academic Honor Roll in 2012, while three qualified for the prestigious NEC Commissioner's Honor Roll, requiring a cumulative gpa of 3.75 or better.
