No. 1 Bulldogs sweep Terriers, 4-0, in quarterfinals, face No. 4 Red Flash tomorrow in semifinals

SMTIHFIELD, R.I. – After sweeping in doubles, the Bryant University women's tennis team held St. Francis Brooklyn scoreless through singles play, defeating the Terriers, 4-0, in the Northeast Conference Quarterfinals on Friday afternoon.

All three Bryant doubles pairs defeated their opponents, 6-0, as juniors Marion Bouillin (San Diego, Calif.) and Ryan Brown (Austin, Texas) were victorious in No. 1 doubles, sophomores Nina Luiggi (Nottingham, England) and Ashanti Campfield (Stratford, Conn.) triumphed in No. 2 doubles and sophomores Linnea Sjoberg (Stockholm, Sweden) and Stefanie Arroyo (Gurabo, Puerto Rico) were successful in No. 3 doubles.

No. 1, No. 2 and No. 5 singles all went unfinished, but the Bulldogs were able to capture the remaining three singles points and went on to win, 4-0. Bouillin held Jennifer Gonzalez scoreless, 6-0, 6-0, in No. 3 singles, while Briana Leonard (Westford, Mass.) trumped Dragana Dzigurski by the same mark in No. 4 singles. Maery Fornolles folded to Campfield in two sets, 6-0, 6-0, in No. 6 singles.

The Bulldogs' victory carries them into the semifinal round, where they will face No. 4 Saint Francis Pa., tomorrow at 11:30 a.m.
