Kendall, Boru win flight at Rhody Doubles Tournament

KINGSTON, R.I. -- Leanne Kendall and Ada Boru won the Silver Flight to highlight a strong performance by the Bryant University women's tennis team on at the Rhody Doubles Tournament on Saturday.

The tournament format had three pools of round-robin play. Pool play determined the brackets for three sets of flights that featured a single-elimination tournament. The top two finishers in each of the three pools were placed in the  Gold Flight. The third- and fourth-place teams in each pool played in the Silver Flight, and the remaining teams made up the Bronze Flight.

Teams were allowed to substitute players freely between rounds.

Bryant Highlights

• Kendall and Boru went 2-2 in Pool B, qualifying for the Silver Flight. They went on to defeat Madison/Kamilla from Quinnipiac, 4-2, to advance to the semifinals. A 4-0 win over Lindholm/Warner from PC pushed them into the finals where they defeated Loredo/S. Chratian, 4-1, from URI.
• Manuela Gomez Estrada and Amy Maalouf also advanced to the finals of the Bronze Flight. The duo defeated Monmouth, 4-3, in the semis but lost to Klapman/Pax from Monmouth in the finals, 4-3.
• Olivia Rondini and Caitlyn Munson also had a strong day, falling the semis of the Gold Flight. The duo went 4-1 in pool play and won a first round matchup against Wright/Migliorini from PC, 4-3. Rondini and Munson, however, were downed by Koscieslski/Wilbur in the semis, 4-2.
