SMITHFIELD, R.I. - The Bryant University volleyball team couldn't get much going Thursday night against Holy Cross, dropping a 3-0 decision to the Crusaders on the road.

The Bulldogs (5-14) had a lead just once throughout the match, falling, 25-20, 25-21, 25-19, for the team's third-straight loss.

Senior Julie Geonnotti (Eden Prairie, Minn.) led the Bulldogs with nine kills, adding on an assist, four digs and a block. Bryant standout Maria Scocca (Melrose, Mass.) was held to just five kills on the evening, serving up a match-best three aces with three blocks.

Rookie setter Jadith Lorenzo (Lawrence, Mass.) collected a career-high 20 assists and a contest-high four blocks (1 solo, 3 assists) despite the loss, while freshman Macy Mitravich (Waimanalo, Hawaii) and junior libero Robyn Gardner (Longwood, Fla.) each registered six digs to pace Bryant.

Holy Cross (2-16) was led by 13 kills from Megan Lynch and 35 helpers from Chelsey O'Donnell. The loss was the second time the Crusaders have defeated the Bulldogs on the 2009 season.

Bryant will try to get back on the side of winning this weekend when it travels to Pennsylvania for a pair of Northeast Conference matchups. The Bulldogs will face a Saturday matchup against Robert Morris (3 p.m.) before a Sunday bout with Saint Francis (PA) (1 p.m.).
