Scarff named Molten/NEC Rookie of the Week for third-straight week

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- For the third-straight week and fifth time overall, Bryant University outside hitter Natascha Scarff (Geneva, Switzerland) has been named the Molten/NEC Volleyball Rookie of the Week.

Scarff once again paced Bryant on a 2-0 week, totaling a team-leading 28 kills, 21 digs and eight blocks. In a 3-2 road win over Sacred Heart Thursday night, the rookie led the match with 17 kills while adding nine digs and five blocks. Then, in her final match of the season Sunday, Scarff led the Bulldogs to a 3-0 road win over Fairleigh Dickinson, picking up her 12th double-double of the season by posting a match-best 11 kills to complement 12 digs and three blocks.

The newcomer hit at a .275 clip on the week and averaged 3.5 kills, 2.6 digs and 1.0 blocks per set. The outside hitter added an ace in each contest and posted a perfect 1.000 reception percentage in 35 attempts. Scarff closes out the season with five NEC Rookie of the Week accolades, the most of any conference frosh this season. She finished the 2014 campaign with 259 kills (2.78/set), 276 digs (2.97/set), 29 blocks and 20 aces.
