SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University sophomore setter Kirstyn Sperry (Phoenix, Ariz.) has been named the Molten/Northeast Conference Women's Volleyball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Sperry was named the Mason Invitational Tournament MVP after a series of terrific all-around performances for the Bulldogs (8-8), who defeated George Mason, Loyola (Md.) and Hampton en-route to the tournament championship over the weekend.

The sophomore averaged 6.85 assists, 2.62 digs and 1.69 kills per set in the tournament, including a pair of double-doubles with 23 assists and 15 digs in a 3-1 win over the host Patriots, and 29 assists and 10 digs in a straight set victory over Loyola. She added 14 more assists in Bryant's 3-0 triumph over Holy Cross to begin the week on Tuesday, September 13.

Sperry sits second on the team with 119 points and 244 assists, fifth with 86 kills and fourth with 116 digs. She has helped the Bulldogs win five-straight matches, losing just one set during the streak which is the most-dominant stretch of five matches in the program's Division I history (won 15-of-21 sets in 2010).

The Bulldogs take on intrastate rival Providence College tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the Capital City.
