Bryant volleyball announces skills camp August 8

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Head coach Theresa Garlacy is pleased to announce the 2017 Bulldog Volleyball Skills Camp, set to be held August 8 at Bryant University.

The day camp offers local athletes the opportunity to improve and develop their skills in preparation for their upcoming seasons, including preparing older athletes for the college recruiting process. Campers will be divided according to their age and/or skill set to receive one-on-one training in passing, setting, hitting and serving.

The camp focuses on individualized skills and team strategies. Skills cover a range from basic passing and hitting techniques to advanced attacking and defensive schemes, depending on skill level and age. An emphasis will be put on technical development and motivational skills as well.

Athletes will receive high-level instruction and feedback across every position from current Bulldog athletes, including all-conference selections Julia Flynn (Pembroke, Mass.) and Kirstyn Sperry (Phoenix, Ariz.), and seniors Ally Lunsford (Minneola, Fla.), Kiley Robbins (Garland, Texas) and Cassandra Sulmeisters (Centennial, Colo.). The entire Bulldog squad and full coaching staff will be present to facilitate individual instruction and skill advancement.

The camp is offered to girls in grades 6-12, and tuition for the Tuesday camp is $125. Campers must bring their own court shoes, kneepads and water bottle.
