McGovern collects second Molten/NEC Rookie of the Week

SOMERSET, N.J. – Bryant University volleyball freshman Emma McGovern (Long Beach, N.Y.) collected her second Molten/Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week honor in as many weeks to begin her collegiate career, as announced Monday by the NEC office.

McGovern was named to the all-tournament team of the Hampton Inn-vitational with a solid all-around performance, averaging 2.89 kills and 2.22 digs per set while hitting .288 in a 2-1 weekend for Bryant. The outside hitter from Long Island recorded a career-best 10 kills in Friday's sweep of North Dakota.

McGovern ranks second on the Bulldogs in kills per set (2.18), digs per set (2.36) and total aces (7) through her first seven matches in Black & Gold.

The Bulldogs are back in action when they Providence Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Chace Athletic Center. Tickets are available HERE.
