Garlacy Honored With Career Champion Award

Garlacy Honored With Career Champion Award

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Career Champion coin was designed by the Amica Center for Career Education to be awarded to Bryant University faculty and staff who consistently and selflessly go the extra mile to support the career success of Bryant students. Once a year, at a special spring semester staff meeting, individual Amica Center staff nominate potential awardees and "make their case" to the Amica Center staff as to why that nominee is deserving of the coin and honor. The Amica Center staff then vote as a group to identify the year's Career Champions.

Coach Theresa Garlacy was unanimously selected as this year's Bryant Career Champion.  Each year, prior to the start of the season, Coach Garlacy has her team meet with the Amica Center for Career Education to learn about résumé writing, internships, and job opportunities.  She encourages her team to participate in the Athletic Networking Night to meet with employers to seek out internships and full-time opportunities, information sessions and attend the Fall and Winter Career Fairs.  Coach Garlacy connects her team with former alumni athletes for mentoring opportunities and informational networking.  She has a vested interest in the success of every one of her student-athletes both on and off the court.   For this reason, and many more, The Amica Center for Career Education recognizes Coach Theresa Garlacy as a Bryant Career Champion and for always "Going the Extra Mile."

Congratulations Coach Garlacy!
