Bulldogs Host Stonehill in Home Opener Tuesday Night

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Bryant women's volleyball team will host Stonehill this Tuesday night in their home opener for the 2022 season. The Bulldogs will enter the Chace coming off their first win of the season Saturday at Hofstra. The team will also be raising a banner in celebration of last year's NEC regular season championship.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Alysa Wright was named to the all-tournament team at Hofstra this past weekend. She finished with 21 kills, eight blocks, and a .356 hitting percentage in three matches.

  • Caroline Kennedy led the Bulldogs with 30 kills on the weekend, doing so on a .290 hitting percentage. She added eight blocks and ten digs.

  • Abby Rae recorded 39 digs, 15 digs, and one ace over the weekend.

Scouting the Skyhawks

  • Stonehill is in their first season transitioning to Division I. They went 22-10 in 2021, including a 10-3 record in the NE-10. They advanced to the second round of the NCAA Div. II Tournament.

  • Player to Watch: Junior outside hitter Jentry Allen leads the Skyhawks with 37 kills and four aces through four matches. She was named to the NE-10 all-rookie team last year.

  • Bryant and Stonehill will be facing one another for the first time since 2007, when both were members of the NE-10. The Bulldogs are 40-3 all-time against the Skyhawks, including wins in their last 19 meetings.
