Bulldogs Returning to the Chace to Host Hartford

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Bryant women's volleyball team will return home this Tuesday, hosting Hartford in the Chace Athletic Center. The Bulldogs are coming off a seven game road trip that saw them go 4-3, including three wins in their last four matches. Alysa Wright and Abby Rae were named to the all-tournament team this past weekend at UConn, where the Bulldogs won two of three.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

• Wright posted 30 kills, nine blocks, eight digs, and five aces in three matches at UConn. She leads the team and is second in the America East with 48 blocks on the season.

• Rae anchored the defense this weekend with 47 digs, along with 19 assists and four aces. She ranks second in the AEC with 190 digs this season.

• Bryant's 3-2 win over Syracuse was their first win over an ACC school in five years. It came five years and one day from another 3-2 win over the Orange, that one at Hofstra.

Scouting the Hawks

• The Hawks are 0-13 to start the 2022 season. They were 7-18 in 2021, including a 5-7 record in their final season in the America East.

• Player to Watch: Junior outside hitter Uzezi Ijoma leads the team with 87 kills, 18 blocks, and 101.5 total points.

• The Bulldogs are 14-9 all-time against the Hawks, including 7-8 at the Division I level. They defeated Hartford 3-1 last year in Connecticut, with Riley James and Emma McGovern posting double-doubles in the win.
