Bulldogs Battle Again With BC on Wednesday

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.- The Bryant women's volleyball team is back in action this Wednesday, taking on Boston College in the first of two matches this week. The Bulldogs will be facing the Eagles in a rematch from September 3, a 3-1 BC win in Smithfield.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Bryant enters their final match before America East play as the conference leaders in numerous categories. The Bulldogs lead in digs (867, 14.69 per set), total kills (731), and total assists (669).

  • The AEC Defensive Specialist of the Week to open the season, Abby Rae currently ranks third in the conference with 197 total digs. Her 3.45 digs per set are fifth best.

  • Bryant is coming off a 3-0 sweep of Hartford last week at the Chace Center. Sophomore Miranda Jantzen (seven kills, five digs) and freshman London Hunt (five kills, four blocks) led the way for the Bulldogs over the Hawks.

  • Aubrey Lapour led the Bulldogs with 17 kills in their Bulldog Invitational meeting with Boston College on September 3. She has eclipsed 15 kills three times this season, including a career-high twenty on September 16 vs. Syracuse.

Scouting the Eagles

  • Boston College is 12-3 so far this season. They split their first two ACC matches this past weekend, including a 3-2 loss to Syracuse in New York.

  • Player to Watch: Junior outside hitter Alayna Crabtree ranks eighth in the ACC with 150 kills (3.06/set) and second with 25 service aces (0.51/set). She had 16 kills and three aces earlier this season against Bryant.

  • The Bulldogs are 1-5 all-time against the Eagles. They've lost 3-1 to BC in each of the last two Bryant Invitationals, and are looking for their first win in the matchup since 2010.
