Bulldogs Hosting First America East Home Matches This Weekend

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Bryant women's volleyball team will return home to the Chace Center this weekend as they host UAlbany and New Hampshire in America East action. Friday's match will be their first ever home match in America East Conference play.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • The Bulldogs will look to continue their strong play at home this weekend. They have won five of six in the Chace in 2022 and are 15-4 at home since the beginning of last season.

  • Alysa Wright enters this weekend second in the America East in blocks (62, 0.97/set). She also ranks sixth in the conference with a .286 attack percentage.

  • Maggie Ryan had three kills and a career high-tying five blocks against UMBC on Saturday. She has recorded 18 kills and ten blocks over her last three matches. 

Scouting the Great Danes

  • UAlbany split their opening weekend of conference play, falling to New Hampshire and defeating NJIT. They are 6-12 overall on the season.

  • Player to Watch: Sophomore outside hitter Alexa Harris leads the team and is third in the conference with 198 kills. She's also the team leader with 35 kills.

  • The Bulldogs are 2-2 all-time against the Great Danes, with three of those meetings coming at the Division II level. Their lone D-I match was a 3-0 UAlbany win in 2019.

Scouting the Wildcats

  • New Hampshire defeated UAlbany to open conference play last weekend, and is 1-1 to start in the America East. They come in 11-6 overall.

  • Player to Watch: Junior setter Camryn Honn ranks third in the AEC in service aces (21, 0.42 per set). She's also the team leader with 190 assists.

  • Bryant is 3-11 all-time against UNH, including 3-9 in Division I competition. Their last matchup was a 3-0 Wildcats win in Durham in 2019.
