Bulldogs Face Familiar Foe in Tuesday Non-Conference Match

NEW BRITAIN, Conn.- The Bryant women's volleyball team will face an old NEC rival in non-conference action this Tuesday, as they take on Central Connecticut State on the road. The Bulldogs are looking to get back in the win column after a loss to Binghamton on Friday.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Haley O'Brien led the team with six blocks against Binghamton, increasing her season total to 62. She is fourth in the conference with 1.03 blocks per set and her 342 career blocks are one behind Emily Kaup for third in Bryant's Division I history.

  • Alysa Wright enters the week fifth in America East with a .298 hitting percentage. Her 152 total kills lead the team this season.

  • Abby Rae is fifth in the conference in digs (236, 3.28 per set). She had a team-high twelve against Binghamton.

Scouting the Blue Devils

  • CCSU enters the match 10-8 overall and 4-3 in the NEC. They are 1-1 against America East competition, with a win over NJIT.

  • Player to Watch: Sophomore outside hitter Rachel Picha leads the NEC with 29 service aces (0.52/set). She's also the team leader with 240 digs (4.29/set).

  • Bryant is 13-19 all-time against CCSU, but have won their last three in a row against the Blue Devils. They won both matches last year 3-2, with Emma McGovern posting 20 kills, 24 digs, and three blocks across the three matches.
