Coach Garlacy Announces 2027 Signing Class
SMITHFIELD, R.I.- Bryant volleyball coach Theresa Garlacy is excited to announce the six members of the program's recruiting class of 2027.
Coach Garlacy: "This class has really big shoes to fill. They run the gamut of positions and bring with them the talent and skill to elevate to the level of play that has become expected from Bryant volleyball.
At the libero position, Carrina brings a pristine passing platform, a fierce competitive edge, and high volleyball IQ. Incoming setter Madison brings size for the block, quick hands, and a killer serve. In the middle we have two big jumpers, Brookelyn and Nadine, who both have quick arms and can turn the ball in either direction. On the pins we have Nina, who is a gritty player ready to contribute on offense with her big lefty approach and on defense with her dominant block. Grace on the left pin is quick, athletic, and a big jumper. She will adapt smoothly to our quick offense.
As a group they are going to provide a very bright future for Bryant volleyball."
Nina Gavin | Right Side | Clinton, Mass. | Worcester Academy
Before Bryant: Named a NEPSAC league all-star and team MVP in 2021… Has recorded 779 kills, 441 digs, 92 blocks, and 199 aces in career… Played two years at Advanced Math and Science Academy, where she helped lead them to a district championship… 2022 AAU Academic All-American… Also plays basketball and softball.
Personal: Parents are Patricia and Paul… Has two siblings, Nicole and Austin… Mother Patricia rowed crew at UCSB.
Madison Koeller | Setter | Winchester, Va. | Millbrook High
Before Bryant: Two-time regional player of the year, named second-team all-state in 2021… Has recorded 2,088 assists, 566 digs, 320 kills, 235 aces, and 164 blocks in career… Has helped lead team to three district playoff appearances and the 2021 state semifinals.
Personal: Parents are Janelle and Phil… Has one sibling, Abigail, who plays volleyball at Slippery Rock.
Nadine Abdat | Middle Blocker | North Andover, Mass. | North Andover
Before Bryant: Named to 2021 all-state and all-conference teams… Has recorded 220 kills, 53 blocks, 35 aces in senior season… Has hit .355 for her career… 2021 All-Scholastic honoree by the Boston Globe and Boston Herald… 2022 AVCA All-Region honoree… Plays club volleyball with fellow Bryant recruit Grace Sorensen… Also competes in track and field.
Personal: Parents are Nadege and Malek… Has one sibling, Noah.

Before Bryant: Two-time all-conference and 2021 all-state selection… 2021 Tewksbury Town Crier Female Athlete of the Year and Boston Herald All-Scholastic honoree… Named to 2022 AVCA All-American watchlist… Has led team to state playoffs in each of last two years… Also competes in track and field.
Personal: Parents are Luke and Nadine… Has one sibling, Cade… Father Luke played volleyball at Roger Williams, mother Nadine played volleyball and softball at UMass Dartmouth.
Grace Sorensen | Outside Hitter | Georgetown, Mass. | Ipswich High
Before Bryant: Two-time league all-star… Has helped lead team to back-to-back league titles and a 2021 state championship… Named to 2022 AVCA all-region team and All-American watchlist… Club teammates with fellow Bryant recruit Nadine Abdat.
Personal: Parents are Chad and Ellen… Has three siblings, Molly, Jack, and Will.
Brookelyn Talmadge | Middle Blocker | Clifton, N.J. | Immaculate Heart Academy
Before Bryant: Two-time all-state, all-league, and all-county selection… Has recorded 723 kills, 146 blocks, 46 aces, and a .550 attack percentage during career… Has helped lead team to a 2022 county championship and 2019 state title… 2022 MaxPreps Preseason All-American… Former high school teammates with current Bulldog Gianna Grigaliunas.
