COACH GARLACY'S COMMENTS

"What a great win for our seniors today. Our defense was stellar and kept us in long rallies. We converted those rallies to points. We served so tough and frustrated their offense.  We are super proud of this team and how hard they have worked. We are peaking at the right time."

HOW IT HAPPENED (vs UAlbany)

  • Set 1- Early kills from Brookelyn Talmadge would help the Bulldogs open up play with a 6-2 lead over UAlbany. The Danes would not relent in the set however and managed to even the score at 22. This would not stop Bryant from closing out the set thanks to Arianna Ugolini landing a service ace and Aubrey Lapour posting a kill. Bryant would win the set 25-23. Arianna Ugolini and Aubrey Lapour each had 3 kills for the Bulldogs and Madison Koeller had 6 assists.

  • Set 2- The second set saw UAlbany continue the momentum they had established in the first. Shynelle Woronniuk posted 3 kills against Bryant in the set and forced them into bad spots. After falling behind by more than 10 points, the Black and Gold would look to get back on track in the third set as they fell 25-13. Lapour had another 3 kills for Bryant while Lea Mackey and Morgan Smith combined for 4 blocks.

  • Set 3- The Danes continued to push the tempo with Bryant in the third set and held a late 3 point lead. The Black and Gold would fight back to tie the score at 21 after putting the opposition into tough spots and Brookelyn Talmadge having yet another clutch kill. In the end, the Bulldogs turned Aubrey Lapour once again who delivered 2 late kills to put the set away. Bryant would win the set 25-23 with Lapour and Talmadge combining for 9 kills.

  • Set 4- In the final set Bryant would get off to a great start thanks to stellar serving from Carolina Camacho. After leading 5-0, the match would be paused following a substitution violation on UAlbany. After deliberation by the referees, play would resume and saw the Danes get two consecutive points. Appearing like the tide was about to turn in UAlbany's favor, Bryant would managed to rattle off an emphatic 10-0 run to put the lead out of reach. The Bulldogs would surge to the finish line and win the set 25-15 and take home the 3-1 victory in the match.
