Reynolds selected NEC Rookie of the Week

SMITHFIELD, R.I.  – After recording a season-best time this past weekend at the Rothenberg Invitational, Martha Reynolds (London, England) was named the Northeast Conference's Rookie of the Week, marking the first time Bryant cross country has received a weekly award this season.

"Martha has progressed wonderfully throughout the season, and is getting more confident and positive as the season goes on," said head cross country coach Stephanie Reilly. "She is in a great position going into the conference champs in two weeks time. She is a hard worker and is eager to improve, and that is evident in her form to date."

The freshman set a swift pace, leading the Bulldog contingent with a season-best 18:30 for the 5K course. Reynolds took home 17th place to help the Bulldogs to seventh overall.

Reynolds has now finished in the top twenty three times in four events this season and is the only Bulldog on the women's side to finish every race under the 20 minute mark.

The Black and Gold return to action Friday, October 22 at the Central Connecticut mini meet, marking the final competition before the NEC Championships on October 30.
