Reynolds, Hurley pace Bulldogs Saturday

BULLDOG WOMEN RUNNERS FINISH FIFTH AT UMASS DARTMOUTH

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Junior Martha Reynolds (London, England) and senior David Hurley (Ashaway, R.I.) paced the Bryant University cross country teams on Saturday afternoon at the UMass Dartmouth Shriners Invitational.

Coming off an injury-plagued sophomore season, Reynolds finished 10th out of 293 runners, helping the Bulldogs to a fifth-place finish. Bryant finished with 232 points, tying for fifth with Brandeis. MIT finished first with 17 points, claiming the top four finishers.

On the men's side, Hurley paced the Bulldogs to a 12th-place finish out of 39 teams, finishing 23rd with a time of 25:51. MIT won the men's meet as well, placing four runners in the top 20.

With Reynolds leading the pack with a time of 18:49, the Bulldogs were able to place three runners in the top 50. Freshman Erin Svensen (Medway, Mass.) finished 25th with a time of 19:12 and freshman Staci Rezendes (Ludlow, Mass.) finished 47th with a time of 19:36. Brooke Tomasetti (20:04), Kara Walsh (20:12), Katherine Dustin (20:23), Megan Robertson (20:36), Maria Blanc-Zoco (20:59), Kyia Jensen (21:06), Brittany Sarza (21:08) and Emileigh Gilfoy (21:10) also competed for the Bulldogs.

After leading the Black and Gold at the Nassaney Invitational, Colin Gannon (Litchfield, Conn.) finished behind Hurley, earning a 31st-place finish with a time of 26:01. Jeffrey Dorosh (Naugatuck, Conn.) finished third on the Bulldogs squad and 55th overall with a time of 26:28. Christopher Chapruet (27:00), John Logan (27:57), Francis Foley (28:15), Jordan Hensel (28:16) and Evan Cannata (28:26) also competed for the Black and Gold.

Bryant will now have a week off before running in the UAlbany Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 29.
