Black NEC XC Athlete of the Week

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – After running one of the best races of her career, senior Eimear Black (Glengormley, Ireland) was named the Northeast Conference Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.

It is the second weekly honor for Black this season and comes two weeks after her first-place finish at the Father Bede Invitational. Competing at the New England Championships for the final time in her career, Black set a personal best with a time of 17:27, finishing second. It was the best finish for a Bulldog runner in program history.

Black and the Bulldogs will finish their preparations for the Northeast Conference championships on Friday, Oct. 25 at the CCSU Mini-Meet in New Britain, Conn.
