Women's XC earns second-straight sportsmanship award
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – For the second-straight season the Bryant University women's cross country team has earned a Northeast Conference Team Sportsmanship Award, the league announced on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs were one of six teams to earn recognition during the fall season. Sacred Heart earned recognition in football and women's volleyball, Robert Morris was recognized in men's cross country, LIU Brooklyn in men's soccer and Mount St. Mary's in women's soccer.
Bryant had a historic fall that was capped with a second-place finish at the NEC Championships, the highest finish in program history. Senior Eimear Black (Glengormley, Ireland) won her second-straight individual title and Emily McNeil (Shelton, Conn.) was named the NEC Rookie of the Year.
