Melissa Lodge named NEC Athlete of the Week

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant senior Melissa Lodge (Hopkinton, Mass.) was named the Northeast Conference Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.

Lodge finished 10^th overall at the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University this past Friday. Depsite the Paul Short being a 6K instead of the usual 5K, Lodge posted her fastest mile pace of the season, posting a 5:50 mark.

This is Lodge's second time being honored by the conference this season, having received Prime Performer accolades by the NEC on Sept. 26 for her performance in the Ted Owen Invitational, where she placed third overall.

Lodge and the Bulldogs are back in action on Fri., Oct. 13 when they compete in the Rothenberg Run, located at Goddard State Park in Worcester.
