Lodge named NEC Athlete of the Week
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University cross country senior Melissa Lodge (Hopkinton, Mass.) was named the Northeast Conference Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Lodge and the Bulldogs participated in the CCSU Mini-Meet on Friday. The Massachusetts native finished eighth in a field of 138 participants, finishing the 3K course in 10:32.3 and was the top NEC finisher in the meet.
This is the second time this season that Lodge was honored with the award, having also won on Oct. 3 for her performance at the Paul Short Run where she finished 10th.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday, when they return to Central Connecticut to compete in the NEC Championships. The men will run at 11 a.m., while the women will begin at Noon.
