Four Bulldogs earn Conference Honors

SOMERSET, N.J. – The Bryant University cross country team placed four runners on the NEC All-Conference and All-Rookie squads for the 2019 season.

Both the men and women ran to a sixth-place overall finish at the Northeast Conference championship meet this November in New Britain, Conn. The Conference honors the top-14 finishers as All-Conference honorees and places the top seven rookie finishers on the All-Rookie squad.

Sophomore Julia Ayres (Collegeville, Pa.) was the lone Bulldog to place on the All-Conference team this season finishing 13th overall with a personal-best time of 18:34.6 in the 5K race. Freshman Abby Hamilton (Grafton, Mass.) crossed the finish line at 19:30.4 and was among the top-30 finishers. Hamilton finished 29th overall and set a new personal-best in the 5K. The Massachusetts native was also the third rookie in the NEC to finish the race.

On the men's side, two Bulldogs earned All-Rookie Team honors in freshman Jonathan Iamarone (Providence, R.I.) and Evan Coyne (Hancock, N.H.). Iamarone finished 29th overall with a time of 26:58.3, while Coyne posted a personal-best time of 27:09.4 and finished 32nd overall. The rookie duo finished fifth and sixth among the NEC freshmen.
