Bryant travels to UAlbany for America East series

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant baseball team travels to Albany, N.Y., this weekend for a three-game series with the Great Danes. The series is set to begin Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.

• Bryant will trot out the same weekend rotation for the eighth consecutive week. The trio has helped Bryant go 11-1 in the last three series.
• Wainer is still in search of his first win but has matched his career high of 6.0 innings in each of his last two outings. He has a 2.25 ERA in America East play.
• Delongchamp has posted back-to-back strong starts to open league play, allowing just one run on 10 hits over 10.0 innings. He has struck out 12 without issuing a walk.
• Horvat has thrown 16.0 innings in his first two league starts, posting a 1.69 ERA. He tossed a complete game in a 1-0 loss to Maine and threw 7.0 innings last Sunday vs UMBC.
• Kyle Locklear will make his third start for UAlbany, having posted an 0-1 record and a 14.92 ERA in 12.2 innings (17H, 22R, 14BB, 10SO).
• Matt Mariano is 1-1 with a 12.12 ERA in 16.1 innings (23H, 22R, 9BB, 12SO). Last season, Mariano allowed four runs on nine hits over 3.2 innings vs Bryant.

Bryant vs. UAlbany

• Bryant owns a 6-0 lead in the all-time series vs UAlbany. The Bulldogs swept a non-conference series in 2014 and the America East series in 2023.
• Last season, the Bulldogs earned 17-11, 10-1 and 7-5 victories over the Great Danes.  

Bulldog Notes and Notables

• Bryant enters the weekend 16-10 overall and 5-1 in America East play. The Bulldogs are 15-3 since starting the year 1-7. The Black and Gold earned a 14-2 victory over Brown on Tuesday.
• The Bulldogs are 8-3 in one-run games this season. Bryant had a string of six-straight one-run games snapped in the series finale vs UMBC.
• Bryant went 14-6 in March, tying the 2019 and 2013 teams for the second-most March wins in DI program history.  
• The Bulldogs rank second in the league with a 5.50 ERA. Bryant pitchers have struck out a league-best 205 batters and are holding opponents to a .278 average. 
• Carmine Petosa has reached safely in all 26 games this season and his on-base streak sits at 29 dating back to last year. The streak is the longest by a Bulldog since Jake Gustin reached safely in 33-straight spanning the 2021 and 2022 seasons. 
• Brandyn Durand has reached safely in 11 straight games and is hitting .261 with five doubles, five home runs and eight stolen bases.
• Gavin Noriega leads the team in home runs (8), RBI (23), runs scored (25) and OBP (.472). 
• Jared Burrows enters the weekend tied for the league lead with three wins. He is 3-3 with one save and a 1.84 ERA in 11 appearances. Burrows is allowing a .211 batting average.
• Zach Nichols leads the league with six saves.

• UAlbany is 4-16 overall and 3-2 in the America East. The Great Danes earned a series victory over Maine last weekend.
• Will Binder is hitting .324 with eight doubles, 10 RBI, 15 runs scored and a .437 OBP.
• Jared Toby has hit three home runs and has a team-high 14 RBI.
• UAlbany has a 10.89 team ERA. The Great Danes have walked 123 and struck out 125.
