SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University head football coach Marty Fine is pleased to announce the captains for the upcoming 2010 season.

Emerzian came to Bryant in the fall of 2006 and has been an integral leader both on the field and off.  He missed all of last season due to an injury but is expected to return to the lineup and is a projected starter at tight end heading into fall camp.

As a junior, he caught six passes for 68 yards including an 18-yard touchdown reception in Bryant’s win over Duquesne.

Riffe enjoyed a breakout season last fall for the Bulldogs at inside linebacker.  Starting in all 11 games, Riffe led the Bulldogs with 75 total tackles on the year including 11.5 tackles for a loss and had one sack.

He had a career-high 14 tackles against Albany and posted nine solo tackles against Robert Morris.

Canfora has been one of the most versatile players for the Bulldogs the past three seasons.  In 2009, Canfora was third on the team with 232 yards rushing and finished second in receiving yards with 29 catches for 255 yards.

He had a season-best six catches for 75 yards and one touchdown in the win over Robert Morris and hauled in another six catches for 28 yards and a touchdown against Central Connecticut . He had a season-high eight rushes for 33 yards and a touchdown against Sacred Heart.

Lynch has been a starting defensive back for the past two seasons for the Bulldogs and one of the hardest hitting safeties on the team.

In 2009, Lynch tallied 15 tackles  including five in the season opener against Southern Connecticut. He also had two interceptions and heads into his senior season with four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.

Bryant will begin its third season of competing at the Division I Football Championship Subdivision level on Saturday, September 4 when the Bulldogs host the Fordham University Rams at Bulldog Stadium. Kickoff for the season opener will be at 3 p.m.
