Brown, Tracey ECAC All-Stars

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The postseason awards continue to roll in for junior running back Jordan Brown (Glastonbury, Conn.) and senior tight end Matt Tracey (Littleton, Colo.) as both were named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) All-Stars.

A First Team Offense All-Star, Brown led the nation in rushing and finished ninth in voting for the Walter Payton Award last week. He has also already earned All-America status from The College Sports Network/Fathead.com and Beyond Sports College Network, Northeast Conference Player of the Year honors and All-New England status. His junior season was one of the best in Bulldogs history as he led the nation in rushing yards (1,815) and rushing yards per game (165.0), was named to the Walter Payton Award Watch List and set nine program records along the way. The Connecticut native led the NEC in both rushing categories, rushing touchdowns (19), points (134), all-purpose yards (2,500) and all-purpose yards per game (227.3). Brown rushed for a career-high 248 yards against Sacred Heart on Sept. 16 and added two more 200-yard games on the season, including a 243-yard performance against Saint Francis (PA) on Nov. 12. On his way to setting program records for touchdowns in a season and total career touchdowns, Brown compiled eight multi-touchdown games. Brown scored three times in four of those eight contests and was held without a touchdown on just one occasion.

Named the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) Elite Tight End this past week, Tracey was named a Second Team Offense All-Star. Tracey was also named First Team All-America by Beyond Sports College Network last week and First Team All-NEC and All-New England back in December. He completed one of the most accomplished careers in Bulldogs history in 2011, finishing his career as the programs all-time leader in touchdown receptions with 19 and second in catches with 105. Tracey caught 40 passes for 500 yards and eight touchdowns this year, including a nine-catch, 97-yard, two-touchdown game against Robert Morris on Oct. 22 that helped the Bulldogs upset the Colonials on the road. He finishes his career with 105 catches for 1,358 yards. During the season, Tracey was recognized as an Honorable Mention Tight End of the Week five times by the CFPA.
