BROWN NAMED TO CFPA RUNNING BACK WATCH LIST

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Rising senior Jordan Brown (Glastonbury, Conn.) has been named to the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) 2012 Running Back Watch List.

Brown led the FCS in rushing yards last season with 1,815 and finished second in the country with 2,500 all-purpose yards. He broke nine program records last fall and was named to three separate all-american teams. Named the Northeast Conference Offensive Player of the Year, Brown was also named to the prestigious Walter Payton Award Watch List and finished ninth in the voting, receiving two first-place votes. He also earned All-New England honors and became the first player in program history to eclipse 5,000 career all-purpose yards.

Last season, Brown was recognized as National Punt Returner of the Week after returning a punt 53 yards for a touchdown against Sacred Heart. He was also named an honorable mention running back five times by the CFPA.

The Bulldogs begin their first season of full Division I eligibility on Saturday, Sept. 1 when they host Marist at Bulldog Stadium.
