Harris named a BSN All-American

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Already named the Northeast Conference Offensive Player of the Year and All-New England, junior wide receiver Jordan Harris (Lincoln University, Pa.) earned his first career All-American honor, earning second team honors from the Beyond Sports Network on Wednesday.

In posting the greatest receiving season in program history in 2012, Harris set single-season program records in catches (61), yards (1,243) and touchdowns (15). Along the way, he also became Bryant's all-time career leader in catches (129), receiving yards (2,704) and touchdowns (26). Harris had a slow start to the season, catching just seven passes for 114 yards and a touchdown over the first two games before missing the third game of the year due to injury. When he returned in week four he began a mind-boggling stretch that might never be repeated. Over the next eight games, he caught 54 passes for 1,129 yards and 14 touchdowns, averaging 140 yards per game. In those eight games, Harris recorded seven 100-yard games, two 200-yard games and six two-touchdown games. He caught nine passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns against Wagner and then hauled in 10 passes for 201 yards and two scores against Robert Morris.

Harris's season also was historic in the NEC. He became the first player since Miles Austin in 2005 to record over 1,000 receiving yards in a season. He's also fifth all-time in receiving yards and needs just 761 yards next season to become the NEC's all-time leading receiver.
