Former Bulldog presents CFPA Award

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Former Bryant University football standout and 2012 College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) Tight End Performer of the Year, Matt Tracey (Littleton, Colo.), was able to meet one of the nation's premier football players last week. Tracey was co-presenter of the CFPA Freshman Performer of the Year to Texas A&M's Johnny Manziel.

The most prolific tight end in program history, Tracey put together an outstanding senior season in the fall of 2011. He caught 40 passes for 500 yards and eight touchdowns, finishing second on the team in all three categories. For his dominance, Tracey was named the CFPA Tight End Performer of the Year by the CFPA, an award given based on scientific rankings to the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams. Tracey graduated in the spring of 2012 as the program's leader in career touchdown receptions and currently is the top five in touchdown receptions (2^nd, 19), receiving yards (4^th, 1,358) and career receptions (3^rd, 105).
