Football Hall of Famers

Congratulations to Lorenzo Perry and Charlie Granatell on their induction into the Bryant Athletics Hall of Fame

Considered two of the best to ever don the Black & Gold for Bryant Football, they own just about every single offensive record in school history and helped Bryant Football become one of the top football programs in the region during their careers.

And now, in addition to the numerous honors they received as players during their Bryant careers, accolades that include All-American and conference Player of the Year recognition, there is one more honor to bestow upon two of Bryant's all-time greats: Hall of Famer.

Lorenzo Perry and Charlie Granatell combined to provide Bryant with a high-powered offense that was tough to beat. The Bulldogs would advance to the NCAA playoffs in both 2006 and 2007, including a home playoff game against perennial power West Chester before a packed crowd at Bulldog Stadium.

Perry helped lead the Bulldogs to their best season in school history in 2006, a campaign highlighted by the programs first conference title and NCAA berth. He rushed for 3,329 yards and 37 touchdowns in just two seasons with the Bulldogs, earning All-America honors as a senior, and was selected as a finalist for the Harlon Hill Award given to the nation's top player in Division II.

His 313 yards rushing against Stonehill College is a school record that may never be broken.  During Perry's career, he ran for more than 100 yards in a game ten different times and went over the 200-yard rushing mark four times during the 2006 season.

Quarterbacking those great Bryant football teams was Granatell, who hold nearly every Bryant football passing record.  A starter from the moment he stepped onto campus, Granatell helped guide the Bulldogs to 27 wins during his four seasons and was named the NE-10 Offensive Player of the Year in leading the Bulldogs to back-to-back NCAA appearances.

Granatell sits atop the all-time school passing record book with 6,984 yards passing, 961 career passing attempts and 546 career completions, not to mention passing touchdowns in a game (4), season (21) and in a career with 56.

The 2013 Hall of Fame Dinner and Induction Ceremony will take place on Friday evening, October 11 at 6 p.m. in the Bello Center on the campus of Bryant University and in conjunction with Homecoming & Reunion Weekend.
