The Chanticleers (3-0) are the top-ranked team in FCS Coaches' Poll and are ranked No. 2 in the FCS Stats Media poll. It will be the first time the Bulldogs (2-0) will play a team that is ranked No. 1.

Bryant enters the game fresh off a big victory over in-state rival Brown last Saturday in Providence. The Bulldogs' defense forced five turnovers in the game and senior Chad Ward (Delray Beach, Fla.) caught eight passes for 180 yards and two touchdowns.

In two games this year, the Bulldogs' defense has been on its game, limiting opponents to just 9.5 points per game. Bryant ranks third nationally in scoring defense and are fourth in red zone defense (.429) after forcing four Brown turnovers inside their own 10. The Black and Gold have allowed just one touchdown and four field goals on the year.

Offensively, the Bulldogs opened up their passing game in week 3 as Dalton Easton (Miami, Fla.) completed 24-of-40 passes for 309 yards and a touchdown. It was his third career 300-yard passing game, tying him with Mike Westerhaus for the most in program history. Easton completed passes to seven different receivers in the game.

The Chanticleers have been one of the best FCS programs in the country over the last four years under the direction of head coach Joe Moglia. The Chairman of the Board at TD Ameritrade, Moglia is 35-10 in his three-plus seasons and has led Coastal Carolina to the NCAA quarterfinals in each of the last two years.

Coastal Carolina is led on offense by QB Alex Ross and running back De'Angelo Henderson. Ross is widely considered one of the best signal callers in the country and has completed 70 percent of his passes for 676 yards and five touchdowns. Henderson is in the top five nationally with 132 rushing yards per game and is also averaging 71 receiving yards per game.
